Why would Knights go into hand-to-hand combat armed with a MIRROR? Well, the answer lies in the Mirror ShieldSee, the Mirror Shield was a beautifully crafted shield made from polished steel, meticulously shaped to resemble a mirror. Of course, this served a purpose.To protect the knight from incoming attacks and to disorient and distract their opponents. The mirror-like surface of the shield would reflect sunlight into the eyes of adversaries, momentarily blinding them and allowing the knight to strike with precision.But, here's the point fam. That Mirror Shield, with its ability to reflect sunlight and momentarily blind the enemy, carries a deeper metaphorical significance. (Notice they'd be blinded by the image reflected)If you think about it, it's a reminder of the profound power and consequences of our own reflections.As we battle through life, we encounter various challenges and conflicts that demand not only external strategies or downright strength but also introspection. Our self-perception can either be a shield that guards us against self-doubt and negativity or a blinding force that distorts our understanding of reality.So to me, the Mirror Shield serves as a call for this introspection, urging us to examine our own reflections and question the narratives we construct about ourselves and others. Who can disagree that life brings challenges demanding strength and introspection?The thing is that by examining our OWN reflections and questioning our narratives, we guard against self-doubt and gain clarity. Embracing self-reflection leads to understanding, empathy, and personal growth.
