Died:
In Gouverneur, on the 15th inst., CHLOE, consort of DAVID VAN DUZEE, age 69 years.

In Worth, July 3d, Mr. EDWARD WELLS, of congestive fever, age 28 years. Left a wife and infant son.

At the village of Watertown, Jeff. Co., on the 29th of June 1857, after a brief, but painful suffering from a disease of the heart, WELLS BENTON, Esq., age 68 years. He was a native of Connecticut and accompanied his parents from that State to the town of Adams, in this county, in the year 1806, where he continued to reside until after he was elected Sheriff of the County in 1855; when he removed to the village of Watertown for the purpose of attending to the discharge of his official duties. He left a widow and bereaved daughters. His remains were conveyed to the village of Adams for interment on the first instant where an excellent and impressive discourse was delivered to a large and deeply sympathizing auditory, at the Methodist Episcopal Church. On the 7th inst., at the residence of his father in this village, WM. H. ROBINSON, JR., age 25 years, of consumption.

Died:
At his father's in Clayton, July 7, 1857, of scrofulous consumption, BYRON M. FOX, age 28 years after a sickness of about 11 months. In January last he united in marriage with Miss LUCY BRIGGS of Lorraine.

Mr. SALMON W. EDGE, formerly of Copenhagen, Lewis Co., at the residence of his son, COLEMAN WEDGE, in the town of Waupun, Wisconsin, July 9th, age 85 years.

July 30, 1857, p. 1:

In Ogdensburgh, NY on the 20th inst., by the Rev. J. B. Foote, Mr. LEONARD BUSH of Watertown, to Miss ANGELINE BARNES, of Dickinson, NY.

In this village, on the 19th inst., by the Rev. W. S. Titus, Mr. GEORGE BIDWELL to Miss AMELIA KNOWLTON, both of Watertown.

Died:
In Belleville, on the 14th inst., in the 49th year of his age, Mr. ROSWELL BARBER. He was a native of Vermont and came into this county in 1832, where he has resided ever since. For the last four years his strength has been failing, but not until a short time has it been evident that his end was near. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and was a kind husband and father. Survived by his widow.

In this village, on the 20th of July after a short but painful illness, JONATHAN COOLEY, third son of JOEL and HARRIET SPAULDING, of this village, age 16 years, 8 months.

In this village, the 25th inst., departed this life in the hope of a glorious immortality, LUCY A. HALL, wife of A. H. HALL, age 36 years. She left a companion and two children.

August 6, 1867, p. 1:

At the Hotel of L. Barrows, in Sacketts Harbor, by the Rev. T. D. Sleeper, JOHN JAY HALL, of Oswego, and LYDIA W. DEVENDORF of East Hounsfield. (The date of the above marriage service was not mentioned in the notice sent us—Ed.)

Died:
At his residence in Sacketts Harbor, on the 29th ult, AMBROSE H. DODGE, of consumption in the 60th year of his age.

On the 24th ult, in this village, SARAH ELIZABETH, only daughter of WILLIAM and ELIZA FORSYTH, age 2 years, 6 months.

On the 27th ult, JOHN D., youngest son of JOEL and ELIZA GRAVES of this town, of scarlet fever age 8 years and 6 months.

In this village, on the 28th instant, MRS. SUSAN LANE, wife of WM. JOHN LANE, age 35, leaving a husband and a large family of children to mourn her loss.

In Ellisburg, July 24th, Mr. JAMES SCHRAM, age 90 years or over, his exact age is not known.

At the residence of her son in Hermon, St. Law. Co., July 29th, MRS. ELIZABETH SMITH in the 82d year of her age. The subject of this notice is said to have been the first person baptized in Jeff. Co., and was well known in South Rutland, her former place of residence, as a kind and sympathizing neighbor, and a consistent christian.

August 13, 1857, p. 3:

On the 7th inst., in Sacketts Harbor, by Rev. T. D. Sleeper, HARMON ROBBINS to PHEBE S. CREPPEN, both of Sackets Harbor, NY.

Died:
In this village, at the residence of A. J. Peck, Esq., on the 11th inst., MRS. HENRY FLOYD of Springfield, Ohio. The deceased was formerly a resident of this place and had come here to make a short visit. Her death was sudden in the extreme, and cause unknown.

In Belleville, on the 31st, ult, in the 28th year of his age, WILLIAM LAMB, son of E. S. LAMB, Esq. His disease was consumption, and after suffering eighteen months, he peacefully fell asleep.

At Evans Mills, Aug. 2d, CLAUDE MELNOTTE, eldest son of J. D. and M. C. GRINNELL, age 6? years, or 17 days.

In Ellisburgh, Aug. 1st, 1857, MARY J. eldest child and only daughter of RUSSEL, and SARAH WOOD, age 2 years.

At the residence of her father, DEA. MINOR MERRILL, Miss BETSEY MERRILL, on the 10th of July last, age 52, years.

In this village, July 28th, WILLA, only son of C. W. and JANE BARRET SMART, age 2 years and 10 days.

August 20, 1857, p. 3:

At Trinity Church, in this village, on Thursday evening, August 13th, by the Rev. Wm. Parot, assisted by the Rev. Samuel Haskins, Mr. HAMILTON PECK of L.I. To Miss ANNA M., daughter of PHILO JOHNSON, Esq., of Watertown.

In Watertown, Aug. 12, by Rev. P. Morse, Mr. ALFRED E. ROGERS and Miss REBECCA VAN SCHAICK, both of Cape Vincent.

Died:
On the 18th inst., at the residence of Benj. Hutchins, of this town, MRS. RUTH COFFEEN, age 83 years and 5 months. The deceased moved onto the place where she died ...and lived with her husband 56 years, raised ten children and lived to bury them all. Her aged partner still survives in good health, 82 years old.

On the 3d inst., at his residence in the town of Orleans, Mr. CHRISTIAN PETRIE, age 85 years and 3 months. He was born at Little Falls, Herkimer Co., NY and emigrated to Jefferson Co., 21 years ago.

Died:
At his residence, Four Corners, Huron Co., Ohio, Aug. 24, 1857, of dyspepsia, VALIANT M. HORTON, 3rd son of the late JAMES HORTON, first settler on Point Salubrious, Jeff. Co., NY, where the deceased was born, May 14, 1808. He remained a resident of Jefferson Co., until 1838 when he removed, with his wife, accompanied by her father (CHARLES L. COOK), and family, to Huron Co., Ohio. He was united with the Congregational Church.

In Ellisburgh, Oct. 7th, 1847, MRS. HANNAH FRAZURE, of apoplexy, age 84 years.

Oct. 5th, 1857, ADAM G. ECKER, age 72 years and 6 months.

At St. Catharines, Canada West, WIDOW LUCYETT EVERET, wife of the late ORREN EVERETT, in the 48th year of her age. The family was formerly from this county and she was on her way to visit her friends, and was stopping a few days at St. Catharines to visit a brother, where she was taken violently sick and died in a few days. Thus, an entire family of five children are left to mourn the loss of father and mother at an early age. Notice from: Stone Mills, Oct. 19th, 1857.

In Aurora, Ill, Nov. 8, LUCY A. BROWN, daughter of AARON BROWN, Esq., of Brownville, age 25 years. She went to visit her brother and while there was taken away by typhoid fever.

On the 5th of Nov. at his residence in the town of Cape Vincent, SAMUEL F. MILLS, in the 98th Year of his age. He was born in Derby, CT, December___ 1759, and was one of those men of iron constitution and patriotic valor which the war of the Revolution brought into notice. In 1832 he was placed on the Revolutionary pension list. In May 1819 he bought a farm in Brownsville, now in the town of Cape Vincent.

At her father's residence near Smithville, Nov. 15, Miss HANNAH HAZELWOOD, age 20 years and 7 months.

In Brownville, Dec. 2, 1857, MRS. ALTANIA, wife of SAMUEL PECK, age 69 years. Also in Pamelia, Dec. 3d, ANNA MAKEPEACE, sister of the above, and wife of THOMAS MAKEPEACE, age 75 years. These sisters were born in Connecticut, but were among the very early emigrants to this county, having emigrated to the Perch River settlement in the town of Brownville in 1802, crossing Black River near the village of Brownville, in a canoe. Respectively, their funerals were attended on the 8d and 5th inst., by a large number of friends and acquaintances. (a short obituary included)

In this village, om the 15th inst., at the residence of his father, ELBERT C. SACKETT, age 22 years and 9 months, of consumption. The funeral will take place at the Second Presbyterian church on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

At his residence in Rodman, Oct. 22, JARED FREEMAN, in the 68th year of his age. Member of the Adams church.

At the end of the above was a Card notice by C. C. June, thanking his neighbors and citizens of Alexandria for the sympathy and the material aid they rendered in supplying him with household furniture, etc., his being destroyed by fire.

In Croghan, Lewis Co., on the 9th inst., MARY JOSEPHINE, youngest daughter of WM. L. and MARY JANE HUNTINGTON, age 7 years.
